What is a Dietitian?
A Dietitian is a food and nutrition expert with a recognised qualification, who translates the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living. A Registered Dietitian is appropriately trained to deal with the nutritional management of specific clinical conditions. A Dietitian will often work as part of a multidisciplinary team such as a consultant physician, physiotherapist and psychologist. As well as giving individual consultations, education can also be provided to groups, schools and businesses. It can be confusing as to whether to choose a Dietitian or nutritionist to work with. When looking for a nutrition expert to work with or as part of your business, ensure they have credentials to back up their name. Sadly, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist and may have only completed a one or two year course or less! Gillian offers a professional and friendly service and her approach is client-centred so the dietary advice is tailor-made to each individual or group.
